don't complicate things

I know it's way too late, but happy birthday.

on the surface

  • Jun. 28th, 2009 at 2:55 PM

What you see on the surface may not be true. Something else may be going on.
What's your point in telling me? Why do you ask?

the unseen lines
each of these contains a hidden message
only if you manage to crack the code, you will understand

and these, are the stories of my life

while the wicked stand confounded, call me, with thy saints surrounded
confutatis maledictis, voca me cum benedictis

Knock yourself out.

here, backseat is for you

  • Jun. 26th, 2009 at 9:49 PM

I have decided that it is time to place everything in the backseat.
I need to concentrate on my studies now.

Yes everything, inlcuding you.
We'll see what happens after everything.

keep in view
take a leap of faith

 Firstly,
Rest In Peace, Michael Jackson.
You'll be sorely missed.

The social experiment has just begun.
I'm in one of those moods where I can do nothing for hours.
Just don't feel like doing anything.

See you soon. I hope.

flower[s] for you

Heh I took the liberty to colour it too. At least it keeps my mind busy.

isn't it just wonderful~

  • Jun. 24th, 2009 at 7:26 PM

Great. I shouldn't have read that so intently. Now I'm feeling troubled again.
And then I read it more than once.

Bah I think I have a problem. Sometimes, well most of the time I tend to read and analyse stuff too deeply. I blame Lit.
The irony is that I should be analysing my Lit texts, not SMSes, blog posts or letters.

Sometimes, just sometimes. It's very possible. To draw a line. Connecting two seemingly. Different ideas.
And sometimes. When you connect two points. Together.
You get the picture.
Just like "Connect The Dots".
Scrollllll down till you see "Flower". Print it out and enjoy, little children.

for one more day

  • Jun. 22nd, 2009 at 11:31 AM

Rome wasn't built in a day,
But it can probably be razed to the ground within a day.

Sometimes it amazes me how so much things can happen within a day.
Such is the fragility of matters in life?

i'll be here wandering
we are a work in progress

I wish ...
i love you i mean i'd love to get to know you

Here by the ocean waiting to prove there is sunset,
we started this war.
We are young and strong,
so we prayed for night,
five years passed that night,
so shine your beacon of light.
Do you want me to stay or go. The silence is deafening.
Walking wounded on the ground, contemplating my fall.
If you want war then you've got war.

this is my valediction

  • Jun. 21st, 2009 at 4:44 PM

oh look, a rainbow welcoming me back to reality

As I sit at the back of the car silently, I think of the many things I say goodbye to, and at the same time welcome back to my life.
Whether it be good or bad. These are probably things that everyone of us has to go through.

life isn't always coated with caramel
curse those fairytales

I've learnt to be patient. This being a combined 'effort' of sitting in a car with two drivers over a period of 4 hours that could have been most detrimental to my dear health and also waiting by the phone to hear the sweet sound of 3 vibrations on the wooden table top.
Of course, no one really knows what will appear on that cracked LCD screen.

cross your fingers, and hope
keep breathing, keep living, keep holding on

This Church Camp has been an event of many firsts.
First time I've been stuck in a lift. Fortunately it is a hotel lift, where air-conditioning saves the day. Thankfully, there were no screaming girls or babies, but there was a rather annoying friend of mine trying to lift everyone's spirits. He might have done a good job if anyone was actually afraid. I'm sorry I had to shut him up, if not he might have used up everyone's draining supply of precious oxygen and I would not have been here.
This is also probably the first time I've been in a car which 'broke' down. Well I wasn't really in that car. I was in the car behind, but that car which 'broke' down belonged to my parents. The air-conditioning broke down. We had to kinda detour to find a workshop to get it fixed.

a series of unfortunate events

These were not the only things that happened.
Some things got me thinking. Had to ask myself,"What should I do?" countless times.

i need a pick-me-up
turn around if you will, i am by your side

Hopefully some music may take my mind off it. Maybe studying might help.
If you see this, please know that you are on my mind right now.
And now.
And always.

blockbuster season

  • Jun. 4th, 2009 at 8:46 PM

It's finally blockbuster season. The time of the year where there many movies fill with action, and laughter.
Shows like Transformers and Terminator.

What really irritates me is when people go to these kinda movies, and later on they say that the storyline was shit.
I don't care! It's a blockbuster!

If you want to critique a movie, go watch something like that young Elizabeth show.

So zip your trap, fold your arms, and let the stunning video and sound effects blow your mind away.

big space for doodling

I get too excited when I hear the phone vibrate. [draw random scribbles and squiggles here]
Just for that short period of time when I reach over,
My mood is lifted.
Then I see the name on top.       [draw a heart here]
Back to square one.

Too long. Restless. Mind starts to wander/wonder. [draw a sad face here]
[draw a star here]
But, never back down. Not giving up.
Maybe you'll read this, and realise. [draw a hopeful-looking smiley here]

2 weeks empty

  • May. 28th, 2009 at 6:16 PM

I asked myself, which is more painful?

Surgery, physical pain. Hi, I'm fine, thanks.
2 weeks later, nothing. I think this is more painful.

the match i missed

  • May. 15th, 2009 at 10:25 PM

 Extracted from Redsports.sg

Innova Junior College needed a win to get themselves back into contention to qualify for the semi-finals after going down 2-0 to Saint Andrews Junior College earlier. Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) needed one to start the second round of their campaign on the right foot. These consequences resting on the result of this match pointed towards a hard-fought encounter as the two teams met in their second round encounter today.

It was IJC who started the match more positively, preventing ACS(I) from getting into their preferred attacking rhythm. After just 8 minutes, IJC won the first penalty corner of the match, which seemed destined for goal till ACS(I) goalkeeper Ryan Thomasz stuck out a foot to make a save at the bottom right hand corner of the goal.

This early scare seemed to jolt ACS(I), who then began to assert themselves onto the match. However, they had to wait till the 20th minute before their first real chance, when they were awarded a penalty corner. Centre-midfielder Jaspreet Singh took full advantage of this chance, as he sent the ball sailing into the roof of the net with a flick.

IJC seemed undaunted and continued go for ACS(I)’s jugular, relying heavily on right-midfielder Zaky, who grabbed much attention with his crafty dribbling. But their hopes of creeping back into the match were dealt a blow when ACS(I) centre-forward Mahendra stole in behind his marker to tap in from close range.

ACS(I) remained in control for the rest of the first half, which ended with Jaspreet converting another penalty corner after 30 minutes by delicately chipping a rebound over IJC goalkeeper Abdul Halim who did well to save Jaspreet’s initial shot.

With the score at 3-0 at half time, one could have been forgiven for speculating that IJC were going to bottle up and stop attacking in the second half. However, IJC left-back Jeffrey Chan’s piercing cry of “Like Istanbul!”, a reference to how Liverpool Football Club famously overturned the same deficit to eventually win in the 2004/2005 UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul, which echoed through the stadium when the teams emerged for the second half informed everyone that IJC were still in the game and their objective of winning had not changed one bit.

However, they were unable to find a way past Thomasz in ACS(I)’s goal in spite of Zaky’s many eye-catching runs down the right flank. ACS(I) punished them for this by scoring their fourth goal in the 59th minute, when centre-forward Esmond Loke turned in a cross from right-midfielder Asad Hassanali.

The result means ACS(I) are now tied with SAJC at the top of this second round group, with third-placed IJC eliminated from the tournament. However, this campaign could spark the ascendance of IJC as a new hockey team to be reckoned with in the future.
